The moving sand and encroaching desert is so bad in this part of china that many of the roads have been swamped with sand and the wells have dried up. it is estimated that 3,900 kilometers square turn into desert each year. China is suffereing from severe water shortages with just 7% of the world's water and over 205 of the population.
